Background

Released in August 2018, the Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds are marketed as high-end, stylish earbuds with industry-leading noise cancellation. Although outclassed by its successor, the WF-1000XM4, the WF-1000XM3 offers hands free calls, a touch panel for on-ear controls, and digital upscaling for compressed music files.

The Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds range between $120–$205 USD.

Identification

The Sony WF-1000XM3 uses its model number in its name: WF-1000XM3. You can check if your earbuds are this specific model by opening the charging case and looking at the inside of the lid's hinge; the model number should be printed there. Otherwise, you can identify these earbuds by their "bucket-shaped" charging case with the copper colored lid. The earbuds themselves are pill-shaped and have a small in the center of them, near the Sony logo.

The Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds come in two colors: Black and Platinum Silver
