Test and measurement equipment refers to equipment that is used to test, analyze, and calibrate various electronic devices. This equipment is almost equally as important as electronic devices themselves because without the ability to support electronic devices, their lifespan and quality cannot be maintained. Furthermore, some electronic test and analysis equipment is necessary for the development and initial quality control of an electronic device. Without correctly functioning test equipment, electronics cannot be produced and utilized for their intended purposes.
Electronic test equipment includes voltmeters, ohmmeters, multimeters, LCR meters, oscilloscopes, and more. A subset of electronic test equipment is medical test and measurement equipment, which refers to test equipment that is specifically designed to keep medical devices up and running. Test and measurement equipment often measures if the electrical output matches what is expected. For instance, test equipment often measures electrical properties of a device like voltage, current, resistance, inductance, capacitance, etc.
Test and measurement equipment can be used in industrial, home, or business settings. Electronic test and measurement equipment has a variety of different physical appearances depending on the intended use. Test equipment commonly includes probes, leads, wires, a display screen, and a control panel.
