Introduction

For GameSir G7 SE controllers experiencing unresponsive or sticky buttons, this guide provides steps for cleaning or replacing the conductive rubber button gaskets. The proper function of these contacts is crucial for accurate game input. Before attempting this repair, ensure the controller is disconnected from power to prevent electrical hazards.

Cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol or replacing them can restore button responsiveness and is detailed in the “Button Activating Without Being Pressed” section of our troubleshooting page.

Tools

Step 1

Remove the faceplate by prying upwards with a plastic opening tool.
This faceplate is magnetic and will be easy to come off.

Step 2

Use a T6 Torx Screwdriver to remove the six 9 mm screws from the interior face plate.

Step 3

Using a plastic spudger tool, remove the interior face plate. Go around all the edges, prying downwards until it's removed.
Make sure to hold the controller upside down; otherwise the buttons will fall out.

Step 4

Pull up on the conductive rubber button gaskets to remove them.
Additionally, clean contacts with 91% isopropyl alcohol if needed.

Step 5

Make sure that the longer prongs on the button shroud/guide are facing you when reassembling.

How do you get the gasket anchors back in the smaller holes? Not the plastic cover piece, but the actual button contact part. You make it seem simple but they do not slide in easily. Please expand to show it, otherwise this guide is telling people to do something that is nearly impossible for the casual person.
