Introduction

This is a guide for sewing back a cloth chair cushion strap that has fallen off the cushion. The problem could occur when the cushion strap starts to wear out and the thread could rip or fall off.

    • Find the hole in the seat cushion.

    • Cut a piece of thread long enough to fit the hole.

    • Put the thread through the eye of the needle.

    • Tie a knot at the end of the thread.

    • Sandwich the strap in between the two pieces of fabric.

    • Push the needle from the inside of the cushion, around where the broken seam is.

    • Use a small stitch over the material.

    • Pull the needle until thread is taut.

    • Use a small stitch under the material.

    • Pull the needle until the thread is taut.

    • Continue the same alternating stitch pattern of over and under until the end of the hole.

    • Push the needle in through the end of the sewn hole.

    • Wrap the thread around the needle two times.

    • Tie off your thread with a knot.

    • Push the needle through the side of the cushion.

    • This will hide the excess thread.
