Introduction
This guide will show you an effective way of cleaning the Apple Magic Mouse 2. This guide does not include a tear down of the device to clean it but shows how to clean the outside of the mouse itself.
NOTE: Canned air is optional but is recommended for this guide.
Tools
-
-
Using a soft or microfiber cloth, rub on the glass, laser sensor, and the metal portion of the mouse to remove any dust or smudges.
-
After doing a dry wipe off the outside of the mouse, it is recommended to use isopropyl alcohol to sanitize the mouse. Water can be used as a cleaning alternative too.
-
-
-
Dirt and debris can build up in the charging port and in between the rubber and the mouse. Constant cleaning can ensure the mouse stays clean and functions well.
-
Using your spudger tool, carefully move the spudger in the grooves of the mouse and rubber. This will help to remove and loosen any debris.
-
Using the flat edge of the spudger, carefully move it around the lightning port to loosen any debris.
