Introduction

The official guide has been updated and can be found here.

This guide will explain how to replace the back panel on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen.

Oftentimes, the back panel does not need to be replaced unless the laptop was physically damaged from things like dropping it. However, knowledge of how to remove the back panel is important to accessing the rest of the device’s components.

Before trying to access the back panel, make sure the computer is shut down and is unplugged from any external power sources.
