Introduction

If you are struggling to find out why your keyboard isn't turning on you may want to try replacing the battery. The battery might need to be changed for a couple reasons such as the battery having no power left in it, the wrong kind of battery was installed, or the battery might be damaged and need to be replaced. While working on the keyboard it is essential that the power is off before even attempting to replace the battery. For this guide you will need a AAA battery and a wedging tool.

    • Turn off the keyboard by sliding the power switch to the off position. The switch is located on the top right of the front of the keyboard.

    • Make sure that the keyboard is powered off before beginning to do any work on it. Working on the device with the power on can possibly lead to electric shock.

    • Turn over the keyboard and remove the cover to the battery compartment by lifting the tab of the battery cover up and off.

    • You can use your fingernail to do this or a wedging tool to help remove the battery cover.

    • Take the faulty battery out of the battery compartment by pushing the battery towards the spring and lifting the other end of the battery out of the compartment.

    • When inserting the new battery make sure the flat side goes against the spring and the studded side goes against the flat side.
