Introduction

A bifold door that has come off its tracking can be a frustrating occurrence. This particular guide references a bifold door that depends on a plastic pin which is secured into the tracking above the door. Using this step-by-step process will help you replace the pin at the top of the door, reinsert it into the track, and get it back to functioning properly.

Before using this guide, check to see if the pin has fallen out and is damaged, or if the pin just needs to be put back into the tracking. We have provided links in Step 5 to where a new pin can be purchased, but in some cases the pin can be reused if it isn’t damaged or warped.

    • Clean the top of the door using cleaning spray and a rag. This will help remove any dust or wood fragments left behind.

    • I used Meyer's spray, but any household cleaning spray will work just fine.

    • You can purchase a new pin at either Ace Hardware or Home Depot.
