Hello everyone! I am Louis Staton and I am an undergraduate attending University of North Texas with a Bachelor of music in cello performance and Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. I intend to become a patent attorney later in the future.
I have always loved music throughout my entire life. I've participated in many high school programs that have allowed me to curate great experiences with small and large ensembles, create wonderful friendships, and explore many different ideas and cultures through this art form from the friends, conductors, or music itself. On the other hand, biology and chemistry have always been my favorite intellectual passions since I was a freshman in high school. I would always research random topics within these two subjects while losing track of time.
One of my most valued experiences in music was getting to travel to Washington D.C. where I got to perform with over 100 musicians in a professional orchestra environment. This picture shows my small ensemble that I got to perform at the Kennedy Center Reach facility. It was an absolutely amazing experience where I got to make connections with so many different people from so many different areas of the world. This was a truly life changing experience.
For an entire year I was a part of a small ensemble (as you can see I love small ensembles) with my now very good friends. I wouldn't even consider them friends, instead I would consider them family. We performed at many different venues across the Texas area and we created many meaningful and long lasting connections. Although we formed because of a program that we were a part of, we expanded our reach to farther horizons and created familial bonds that will last a lifetime.
