Right now I am confident in shell scripting and know a little Python and Ruby.

I am learning to use node.js. First I worked through the Node Beginner Book, and I want to continue learning more about how node itself works. Before starting to use things like Express, Jade, or Socket.IO, I'd like to learn to do things using only the core node API. What tutorials can help me with this? I'd like to work on a few small projects also to understand more.
