Kendo knockout dropdownlist change Event not firing

Question

<input data-bind="kendoDropDownList: { data:$root.brands,
                                       value: BrandID,
                                       dataTextField: 'Name',
                                       dataValueField: 'BrandID'},
                 event: { change: $root.saveItem }" />

Does anyone know why wouldn't the change event fire if this is inside a kendo window??

I am using knockout-kendo.js.

For Change Event Firing
