Trouble Downloading Eclipse

Question

I'm trying to download eclipse luna onto my Windows 8.1 computer. The problem I have is when ever I launch eclipse, I select my workspace, then it says: "An error has occurred. See the log file C:\path_to_workspace.metadata.log." This is what the log file says:

I have been searching for an answer as to who to fix this for a couple hours and have found nothing that works. I have already tried deleting the .metadata folder. I have looked for a .snap file and I don't see one any where. I have reinstalled Eclipse and my jdk multiple times, but nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like something is wrong with eclipse, since it is a NPE. Can you try another version of eclipse, such as Eclipse Keplar? — EDToaster, Jan 18 '15 at 05:18
It would be helpful if you could let us know what your previous development environment was (Windows, Eclipse, and JDK versions), assuming that you had an Eclipse build working at some point. — Tim Biegeleisen, Jan 18 '15 at 05:19

Look at this post, one of the answers may help. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15372023/eclipse-will-not-start-and-i-havent-changed-anything. One thing I have had to do a couple times in windows is add a -clean flag to the target (find the target by right clicking the exe and viewing properties). — Jeremy Farrell, Jan 18 '15 at 05:22
