I want to validate whether the URL pattern is correct in java

The below RegEx only check the domain .net, .org, .com.

Ex: http://www.google.com/index.jsp

But I want to validate it with all the Strings.

Ex: http://www.google.lk/index.jsp

The RegEx which I currently used:

(http|https)://[-a-zA-Z0-9+&@#/%?=~_|!:,.;]*[-a-zA-Z0-9+&@#/%=~_|]*\\.(com|org|net)

Can anybody help me to resolve this issue?

Use Hibernate validation and then your field will look like

@URL
private String myUrl;

Documentation describes this validation rule as

Checks if the annotated character sequence is a valid URL according to RFC2396. If any of the optional parameters protocol, host or port are specified, the corresponding URL fragments must match the specified values. The optional parameters regexp and flags allow to specify an additional regular expression (including regular expression flags) which the URL must match.

Works very well and this solution is self documenting

On the other hand if you really have to use regex then there are plenty of solutions on StackOverflow about this. Commonly used ones include

Length clearly suggests why it is easier to maintain single annotation than this monster regex.
