Visual Studio 2012 MVC project is not showing Razor Intellisense?

Question

I have an MVC project that I have upgraded from MVC3 to 4 to 5.2.3 & I have Razor 3.2.3 libraries installed in the project. But for some reason my Razor intellisense is no longer functioning on the html files.

Intellisense for C# and for CSS works fine. And even the intellisense for Jquery/javascript in the html files works fine. It seems to be isolated to the Razor code.

My Appsettings has<add key="webpages:Version" value="3.0.0.0" />in it.

How can I get this back?

Is the view that is using the intellisense in the same folder as this web.config? i have had cases where the view was in a different folder and i had to put a condensed web.config in that folder as well (for example when dealing with area folders) — krilovich, Mar 10 '15 at 18:05

You need to change this line:
host factoryType="System.Web.Mvc.MvcWebRazorHostFactory, System.Web.Mvc, Version=5.2.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"
to
host factoryType="System.Web.Mvc.MvcWebRazorHostFactory, System.Web.Mvc, Version=5.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"
