SEVERE: A child container failed during start (Tomcat error on starting)

Question

Tomcat error is coming while trying to run the project by right clicking on it and choosing "RUN AS" and then "RUN ON SERVER".

And if i try to hit the direct url "http://localhost:8080/HelloWorldStruts2/index.action" its giving me 404 error.

I am trying to do this with struts2 with Tomcat version v7.0.

Plz find the source code including all the xml,jsp and java class.

The FilterDispatcher (org.apache.struts2.dispatcher.FilterDispatcher) is used in the early Struts2 development, and it’s deprecated since Struts 2.1.3.

If you are using Struts version >= 2.1.3, it’s always recommended to upgrade the new filter class – StrutsPrepareAndExecuteFilter (org.apache.struts2.dispatcher.ng.filter.StrutsPrepareAndExecuteFilter).

You seem to have taken this code from : http://www.tutorialspoint.com/struts_2/struts_examples.htm

Where they are using struts struts-2.2.3 jar and saying to use FilterDispatcher, which sounds wrong.
