I am porting an existing asp.net 2.0 application to another box running asp.net 4.0.
Source box is windows server 2003 running .Net 2.0 under IIS 7.5
Destination box is windows server 2012 running .Net 4.0 under IIS 8.5
Anyway I am getting the classical error:
"There is a duplicate system.web.extensions/scripting/scriptResourceHandler section defined"
I am unable to rebuild the solution for various reasons and hence generate a new Web.config for .Net 4.0. So I have been altering the "web.config" by hand using the many posting on this problem. But none work. Most solutions are like this article here (http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/255278/IIS-deployment-error-There-is-a-duplicate-scriptRe) but did not work with me.
Can you help me please? And yes, it has to be in 4.0 - I cannot roll back to 2.0.
