Why is my MYSQL not working with java?

Question

This is the code I have to test my db:

Now I was thinking that it might be because port 3306 isnt open on my pc but that doesn't make much sense since this isn't being localhosted right?

Any of you guys any clue what to do?

java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect

Nothing to do with Java. This probably means there is a firewall in the way. See if you can Telnet to that host, port 3306, from the client.

Nevermind I already figured the problem, only my vps ip was whitelisted and I was trying to connect to the db from my pc. Thanks for the attempt to help though. – StanGaming 666 Oct 27 '15 at 15:03
