You need to put all your code inside the for and then give your modals a unique id.

<?php
    for($i=1;$i<=10;$i++){
?>
<button id="myBtn<?=$i?>">Open Modal <?=$i?></button><br>

<!-- The Modal -->
<div id="myModal<?=$i?>" class="modal">

<!-- Modal content -->
  <div class="modal-content">
    <div class="modal-header">
      <span class="close">×</span>
      <h2>This is modal <?=$i?></h2>
    </div>
    <div class="modal-body">
      <p>Some text in the Modal Body</p>
      <p>Some other text...</p>
    </div>
    <div class="modal-footer">
      <h3>Modal Footer</h3>
    </div>
  </div>

</div>

<script>
// Get the modal
var modal<?=$i?> = document.getElementById('myModal<?=$i?>');

// Get the button that opens the modal
var btn<?=$i?> = document.getElementById("myBtn<?=$i?>");

// When the user clicks the button, open the modal
btn<?=$i?>.onclick = function() {
    modal<?=$i?>.style.display = "block";
}

// When the user clicks anywhere outside of the modal, close it
window.onclick = function(event) {
    if (event.target == modal<?=$i?>) {
        modal<?=$i?>.style.display = "none";
    }
}
</script>

<?php
}
?>

<script>
// Get the <span> element that closes the modal
var span = document.getElementsByClassName("close")[0];

// When the user clicks on <span> (x), close the modal
span.onclick = function() {
    modal.style.display = "none";
}
</script>
