I am trying to use AWS CodeCommit as a repository for Spring Cloud Config. In terminal I can clone, push, pull, etc using git commands, such as:

git clone ssh://git-codecommit.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/v1/repos/configserver

However, when I try to use the same codecommit repository in the Spring Cloud Config, it gives an error when trying to clone the repository (The error is below).

This is my pom.xml

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

This is my only class in the project, to start spring boot:

package com.example;

import org.springframework.boot.SpringApplication;
import org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.SpringBootApplication;
import org.springframework.cloud.config.server.EnableConfigServer;

@EnableConfigServer
@SpringBootApplication
public class ConfigServiceApplication {

    public static void main(String[] args) {
        SpringApplication.run(ConfigServiceApplication.class, args);
    }
}

This is my application.properties

spring.cloud.config.server.git.uri=ssh://git-codecommit.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/v1/repos/configserver
spring.cloud.config.server.git.clone-on-start=true
server.port=9090

Every time I start the project I get the following error:

Any help with this matter would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. P.S.: I know there i a similar question How to use AWS CodeCommit as repository for Spring Cloud Config But it doesn't answer my question, or provided me any help.

Based on your example of connecting via the command line, it looks like you have probably followed these directions to configure SSH with a default user name for AWS CodeCommit. JGit (which Spring Cloud Config seems to be using) uses Jsch to connect to a git repository over SSH, and although Jsch is able to detect your default SSH key, it probably does not read your SSH config file to determine which user name to use.

You might try putting the SSH key ID (e.g. APKAEIBAERJR2EXAMPLE, which you might have configured in the "User" line of your ~/.ssh/config file) in the URL that you configure for Spring Cloud Config. Your application.properties file would look something like this:

spring.cloud.config.server.git.uri=ssh://APKAEIBAERJR2EXAMPLE@git-codecommit.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/v1/repos/configserver
spring.cloud.config.server.git.clone-on-start=true
server.port=9090
