Transparent Status Bar - Coordinate Layout

Question

I want to make my status bar transparent . I followed the following code practices but all in vain . I used the code from Android Authority tutorial . Importing their files works perfectly but when I am using the same code in my project it is not working at all .

I have no idea what wrong I am doing . help !!

Both translucent and transparent are not working it is still displaying primaryDarkColor instead of the image below it — Saksham Khurana, Oct 20 '16 at 05:13

Adding parent theme is not helping – Saksham Khurana Oct 20 '16 at 05:19
you have not add parent in style tag. Try to do, It is working for me. – D.J Oct 20 '16 at 05:19
