jpa one to many detached entity persistence exception

Question

public class Trainer{
    @OneToMany(cascade={CascadeType.ALL}, mappedBy="trainer")
    private List<Crew> crew;
}

public class Crew {
    @ManyToOne
    @JoinColumn(name = "trainer_id")
    private Trainer trainer;
}

the above are my entity and i am using spring data jpa repository. in add of trainer API i have implemented transaction for rollback.

@Transactional(rollbackFor= {IOException.class,InterruptedException.class})
public add() {
        trainer = trainerRepository.save(trainer);
}

so every time in save got the exception from transaction class org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionAspectSupport but changing it to CascadteType.Merge works perfect is there in any way to go with CascadeType.ALL

This is probably du to how your Trainer and his crews are built. Show us how you build the whole object and each relevant fields value (for the trainer and the crews) — Walfrat, Dec 26 '16 at 18:55

according to this post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13370221/jpa-hibernate-detached-entity-passed-to-persist . Check that you have a @Id field for each class, and you declared the proper getter/setter or use @Access(AccessType.FIELD) — Walfrat, Dec 27 '16 at 11:21
