Scroll to specific div on another section when a link is clicked

Question

I am designing a website, which has 4 pages within the same index file, out of which only one page is active at a time. I have 3 links in my home page. I need to scroll to a particular div in another page, when i click on homepage links. I tried to implement this, but instead of scrolling to specific div, its just showing the section only.

The href attribute of the links should be pointing to the id of the div you wish to scroll to. — Chukwuemeka Onyenezido, Jan 05 '17 at 09:27
Is your question regarding the issue that it is not scrolling or that it is not scrolling animatedly, as in you can't see it scrolling ? — Akhil Arjun, Jan 05 '17 at 09:29

Using jQuery

when you click a link the section with div is scrolled to top of the screen

You can use the jQuery.animate function and use the scrolltop property.

I have written down an example for you.
