Find the thirteen adjacent digits in the 1000-digit number that have the greatest product.(number is in the code as String num)

The answer i am getting is "9205903071867879424" (wrong answer) Please point out the mistakes in my code and also suggest your solution to solve the problem efficiently as possible. I read the other threads about this problem but couldn't understand them and also there weren't enough efficient solutions.

charAt gives you the ascii charcode, not the actual digit. Therefore the fastest way is to subtract the value of '0' from it:

product = product * (num.charAt(i+j) - '0');
