Seemingly random JavaScript

Question

Looking through the source code on a webpage in the darknet, I found some strange JavaScript. It's a long combination of the characters [(!+. This string repeats: [][(![]+[])[+[]]+([![]]+[][[]])[+!+[]+[+[]]]+(![]+[])[!+[]+!+[]]+(!![]+[])[+[]]+(!![]+[])[!+[]+!+[]+!+[]]+(!![]+[])[+!+[]]]

Probably just there to confuse you. Obfuscated code tends to do that. You don't know whats code that actually does something and what code doesn't. Makes it almost impossible to de-engineer, which is the point of obfuscation. — jdmdevdotnet, Feb 10 '17 at 22:48

Obfuscation and Encoding

The code as has clearly been obfuscated or encoded and isn't likely going to be easily discerned or understood without a significant bit of work on your part.

You can find an article here detailing a similar encoding process which takes a given set of code and reduces it down to the following sets of characters :

[] to access array elements, objects properties, get numbers and cast elements to strings.
() to call functions and avoid parsing errors.
+ to append strings, sum and cast elements to numbers.
! to cast elements to booleans.
{} to get NaN and the infamous string "[object Object]"

Decoding Your Example

After attempting a few different approaches that rely on decoding the code provided, it looks like the snippet that you see repeated seems to evaluate to :

eval(x)

I'd recommend using the above link for some additional code to figure out what exactly x might be if you are still interested in the code itself.
