I'm trying to open a socket bluetooth between a milestone and a pc but the device can not connect. I hope I am sending the code help.

The createRFcommSocketToServiceRecord method is not working in Android 2.1/2.2. There is a workaround to call a non-public method to create the socket:

BluetoothDevice hxm = BluetoothAdapter.getDefaultAdapter().getRemoteDevice(device.getAddress());
Method m;
m = hxm.getClass().getMethod("createRfcommSocket", new Class[]{int.class});
socket = (BluetoothSocket)m.invoke(hxm, Integer.valueOf(1));

    +1 ... Same issue when connecting a HTC EVO 2.2 and a Samsung Intercept 2.1, but your suggestion worked great! Obviously the Bluetooth stack needs some serious work!! – BonanzaDriver Apr 27 '11 at 15:08

  • I was having a really hard time integrating RFCOMM/SPP support (for Android) on my Made For iPhone BT accessory, because iOS also uses RFCOMM, and the lib already was using channel 1. This meant Android client connections went to the iAP(MFi) lib...I hardcoded the SPP server to RFCOMM port 4, which works very well, untangling the libraries.
