I'm using a self-signed certificate for Restful web services for several months without problems, creating a new certificate when the old expires, modifying the cacerts file and copying the new one into the Tomcat conf folder. Suddenly, last friday in the afternoon it stopped working, although it worked well in the morning, and I didn't turn off the computer. The error is the typical: "PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target" (see below the complete error).
I was a couple of hours last Friday and all day today trying to solve this problem. I tried all the suggestions (except those for Mac) in: "PKIX path building failed" and "unable to find valid certification path to requested target" and Java SSLHandshakeException with self-signed certificate
but the problem persists I also tried to generate a new certificate and change the version of the JDK, all unsuccessful.
Please, some new ideas to solve this?
