Difficulty connecting to mongodb via mongoose

Question

This is how i am connecting to mongodb via mongoose...

when i run the seeder.js i get the following errors.... invalid schema, expected mongodb or mongodb +srv.

When i run the db from the mongo shell it shows an empty database meaning the seeding is failing.

The connection to mongodb via mongoose follows the syntax

mongoose.connect("mongodb://hostname:/port/dbname");

In the given problem the code for the same is

mongoose.connect("hostname:/port/dbname");

So just add mongodb at the start of the url string in connect method.
