This may not be a common scenario, as we would not use EJB and SpringBoot at the same time basically, and almost no related topic could be found on Google.
Issue
When I add javaee-api into a SpringBoot project pom.xml, the default SpringBoot test would fail.
Detail
My Project is almost an empty Spring prototype project(started from start.spring.io), containing a Spring entrance class App.java, a Spring test class AppTest.java and a pom.xml.
What I changed from the prototype is I added javaee-api dependency.

Run test AppTest.java would fail. And once I remove the javaee-api artifact, it's all good.

Summary
I'm going to use SpringBoot2 and EJB3 in a same project, but looks SpringBoot do not allowed to add javaee-api dependency. I'm curious whether they can work together and why the conflict occurs.
