How to set SoapClient HTTP content type to application/soap+xml

Question

I need to change the content type from "text/xml; charset=utf-8" to "application/soap+xml; charset=utf-8".

I'm sending a request from PHP to another server (Oracle server) using SoapClient class that exist by default in PHP. I'm using PHP v7.0.10.

As per SoapClient documentation I should just set the soap_version inside the options array to SOAP_1_2 and it will change the content type but it doesn't do that.

From SoapClient manual:

The stream_context option is a resource for context.

You can set HTTP headers in your newly created stream context

There is another way to do this by making a child class and override __doRequest method,

I did try it using the MySoapClient. But it didn't work at first because of a few issues after some investigation and code modification I was finally able to fix them and make it work. Since we are not using anything from the SoapClient class I removed it and just ran the curl commands after I added the few modification on your code. Thanks a lot for all your help. I needed to add CURLOPT_USERPWD for authentication, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT & CURLOPT_TIMEOUT for connection timeout, added more required headers info in CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER and lastly I needed to ignore the SSL and HTTPS using CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST & CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER – hamada147 Oct 19 '18 at 21:12
