I am getting a CR ESLint error - even though I have the git pull code with Windows line endings.

ESLint error in the VS Code terminal

This occurs in Visual Studio Code with ESLint plugin (1.7.0).
This did not occur until I recently updated Git to the latest version, (2.20.0).windows.1.

My .eslintrc file :

I have been trying to fix this issue by trying to get rid of this by line ends using the linebreak-style: "all combinations i.e. 0, 1, ["error","windows"], off, warn"

    Does this answer your question? [Why do I keep getting Delete 'cr' \[prettier/prettier\]?](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53516594/why-do-i-keep-getting-delete-cr-prettier-prettier) – LCIII Oct 02 '20 at 18:50
  • I do recomment reading answer at https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53516594/why-do-i-keep-getting-delete-cr-prettier-prettier as @LCIII suggested. – Cláudio Jan 23 '21 at 23:18

This may help, add this to your .eslintrc.json file:

"rules": {
"prettier/prettier": [
  "error",
  {
    ...
    "endOfLine": "auto"
  }
]

  • This did not work for me. I do recommend reading answer at https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53516594/why-do-i-keep-getting-delete-cr-prettier-prettier – Cláudio Jan 23 '21 at 23:20
  • @Cláudio which one of the answeres? Or, where is the difference? – o-faro Jul 14 '21 at 10:28
  • where can i find .exlintrc.jsob? i don't have it – William Dec 15 '22 at 03:25
  • you can create it yourselft in the root of your project. For configurations take look here https://eslint.org/docs/latest/use/configure/ – o-faro May 01 '23 at 10:48

if you have already checked out the code or cloned the repository. please try the following commands

git config --global core.autocrlf input

git rm --cached -r .

git reset --hard

    worked for me when other answers didnt!!! – Matt Apr 28 '22 at 18:30
  • Thanks! Worked for me! Just take care, as the owner of this commentary says: it will completely destroy any changes and remove them from the local directory. – Daniel Cassiano Chaves Sep 26 '22 at 11:05
  • I would compare this post with [this answer on how to force Git to use LF instead of CR+LF](https://stackoverflow.com/a/33424884). – Henke Oct 26 '22 at 15:29
