I'm trying to get the orange marker to follow the course of this RC car race track using an SVG element and the AnimeJS library.
But no matter what I try, I get really strange and undesirable results.
Sometimes I can see the marker following the path but the path it's on is offset from the course and not in the same scale, and some things I try I cannot see the marker at all but I can see the scrollbars on my page altering, which indicates that the marker is there and is moving.
I can also look at the browser's inspect tool and can see that the element's styles are changing rapidly - translateX, translateY and rotate.
The code, as I've left it here, shows the marker is moving. If you look carefully in the JSFiddle demo, and wait 9.49seconds for each lap to complete, you can see a flash of an orange ball for a nano-second but the ball isn't to scale and I have no idea what path it's following.
What am I doing wrong? How can this be achieved? I'm open to using other libraries or tools if it helps.
