Problem with using Cocoapods on my projects?

I recently reformated my Macbook and lost all my projects, luckily I had them all up on my GitHub page so I downloaded them all again

the problem is when I try to install pods using "pod install" Cocoapods returns an error that goes like this:

I already removed Git and Cocoapods and reinstalled them & I selected the Git version in the drop down menu from Xcode/locations and nothing changed

@evolutionxbox i just created a new project to see if cocoapods works and it works on the new project. it doesn't work on the older project for some reason?? – mbm May 28 '19 at 16:44
Could you also check in the command line by typing `git --version`? – evolutionxbox May 28 '19 at 16:45
@evolutionxbox it returns: "git version 2.21.0 " ... cocoapods works on new projects i created but it gives me that error when using downloaded projects from github – mbm May 28 '19 at 16:51
