why do i get this warning .cs file cannot be found in project file

why is this so?

how do u analyse the file path here? i dont really understand

If you check the WpfApplication1.csproj file in a text editor, it should have an entry for the Window1.xaml and Window1.xaml.cs files.

You have to make sure the xaml and cs files are where the project file thinks they are.

Okay, the csproj file is in a certain directory, maybe something like `C:\Visual Studio XXXX\Projects\WpfApplication1\ ` , and all files will be relative to that directory. The `..` means 'parent directory of the current directory' -- It is looking for the file `"Window1.xaml"` in the same directory as wpfapplication1.csproj and it is looking for `"Window1.xaml.cs"` in the directory **4** directories above it. Try changing the path in ItemGroup\Compile for the file Window1.xaml.cs,

   ....
   <Compile Include="Window1.xaml.cs"> <!--Changed path-->
      <DependentUpon>Window1.xaml</DependentUpon>
      <SubType>Code</SubType>
      <Link>Window1.xaml.cs</Link>
