Java version

 java -version
java version "1.8.0_91"

Not able to figure-out where handshake is failing , as SSL Report indicates server supports TLS V1.2 ( TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256 ) and client also has this cipher in the list 'Cipher Suites'

  • Contrary to all the wrong answers in the duplicate, both TLS version and cipher incompatibilities will orieuce different, specific TLS alerts. – user207421 Oct 11 '19 at 08:06
  • As SSLLabs says right near the top "This site works only in browsers with SNI support." and by browsers they really mean all clients. **Your app is not sending SNI**, therefore it doesn't work. j8 in general supports SNI but there were some limitations and bugs, so it depends on the exact version and on the code that does the SSL/TLS connection attempt, which you didn't show. @user207421: version mismatch _should_ use alert 70, but it doesn't always; cipher(suite)s mismatch should and almost always does use 40. However, _this_ Q is actually neither. – dave_thompson_085 Oct 11 '19 at 09:33
  • Thanks @dave_thompson_085 , how did you figure out APP is not sending SNI? – Shashi Oct 11 '19 at 14:15
  • @Shashi: the debuglog shows the extensions sent, and SNI is not among them. – dave_thompson_085 Oct 13 '19 at 11:52
