Give specific width to td & th and make the table scrollable

Question

I want to give a width of 200px to all the td and th and when the width is breached I want the table to be scrollable.

In the above code even if I give a width in following way

td,th{width: 200px;}

It does not assign a width of 200px and the td are all crammed.
