You can use Calendar class component(_:from:) method to get an hour and minutes.

let calendar = Calendar.current
calendar.component(.hour, from: date) // hour
calendar.component(.minute, from: date) // minute

    let dateInRequiredFormat = dateFormatter.string(from: checkInDateStr)
    return dateInRequiredFormat
}
