ListView won't scroll at all. Error says the issue is in the main.dart file and not in the module I'm working on, but it's the module that's overflowing.

Tried multiple things:

  • primary: false, physics: const AlwaysScrollableScrollPhysics(), controller: _controller
  • Flutter dev docs on making a list view
  • Medium posts on making list views
  • Countless stack overflow Qs

Here's my code as it stands:

Here's the error:

Consider applying a flex factor (e.g. using an Expanded widget) to force the children of the RenderFlex to fit within the available space instead of being sized to their natural size.
This is considered an error condition because it indicates that there is content that cannot be seen. If the content is legitimately bigger than the available space, consider clipping it with a ClipRect widget before putting it in the flex, or using a scrollable container rather than a Flex, like a ListView.

The error happens because the ListView expands to the max size in main axis direction.

Solution:

As @rocigno-medeiros rightly said in the comment

By wrapping your code in Scaffold makes it work because Scaffold constraints the height of ListView.

Also there's no need for a additional scroll controller if you want default scroll behavior.
