NoSuchBeanDefinitionException for NamedParameterJdbcTemplate in test class

Question

I have a problem with running unit tests with JDBCTemplate in my spring boot application. I have the following code for configuration:

and this is for repository class:

that works by calling the Rest service from postman for example. I wrote this unit test to test only the repository part:

could someone help me figure out what's missing?

I'am not sure about your config because I read your post from smartphone and maybe miss something important, but I highly recommend check out this way to test your dao layer. https://docs.spring.io/spring-boot/docs/current/api/org/springframework/boot/test/autoconfigure/jdbc/JdbcTest.html This annotation allows you to set up only persistence context to query data from db. Maybe it will be useful if you want to test repository. It's not the answer by the way, just alternative approach :) — NikMashei, Sep 15 '20 at 07:37

Add @Autowired using a setter with DataSource parameter:

private NamedParameterJdbcTemplate namedParameterJdbcTemplate;

@Autowired
public void setDataSource(DataSource dataSource) {
    this.namedParameterJdbcTemplate = new NamedParameterJdbcTemplate(dataSource);
}
