I am extremely new to python, the answer is probably sitting in front of my face, but I just can't seem to find it. Pip won't let me install any packages. I'm using pip version 20.2.4, and python version 3.9.0. I'm on windows 10.

C:\Users\Scott Evans>pip install pandas

  • Does this answer your question? [Python pip install ends with "command errored out with exit status 1:..."](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/64413061/python-pip-install-ends-with-command-errored-out-with-exit-status-1) – JAV Oct 26 '20 at 00:56
  • This is an issue with Python 3.9 and the pandas dependencies not being updated yet. If you want to get started now, downgrade to 3.8. – JAV Oct 26 '20 at 00:57

You seem to have issues with the wheels, and that is because not all offical wheels are out yet for Python 3.9, the following command installs the unoffical wheels.

Type the following command

pip install pipwin

then

pipwin install pandas
