I had MongoDB running fine on Ubuntu 20.04 but after adding replication options to mongod.conf, the config file seems to be being rejected. This results in errors because mongo attempts to write to the default storage path, which doesn't exist.

Here is my conf file:

  • Thanks Wernfried, this solved my problem! I'm now having another issue though, which is that all the calls I make to MongoDB (via Mongoose) are timing out. This wasn't happening when the db was configured as standalone. It's only the fact that it's not a replica set that has changed.
