After installation of AWSVPNClient on Ubuntu, when I open, it disappears or crashes. This doesn't not allow me to import the VPN file to client.

I am installing the client as documented here -https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vpn/latest/clientvpn-user/client-vpn-connect-linux.html

For anyone who is facing this issue. There is a work around to handle this problem (until they fix the VPN) in this post. When they fix the VPN just remember to uninstall the older version of libssl before updating it.

  • The workaround work for me. Thanks! – mionnaise Sep 30 '22 at 00:27
  • Thanks. I came across another weird issue where the app launch crashed with the error `Could not find the program '/opt/awsvpnclient/AWSVPNClient'`, when it was actually located in `'/opt/awsvpnclient/AWS VPN Client'`. Just in case someone else faces the same issue. – Chevindu Wickramathilaka Dec 16 '22 at 10:03

In Ubuntu 23.04, to make it work there are 2 steps:

If you are using 22.04, AWS is not supporting it.

Installing Libssl made it where DKMS was broken for my install... Preventing NVidia/etc from loading. Causing all kinds of issues.

It was so broken I was unable to fix, and had to reinstall OS, which i never do.

If anyone has been able to fix this issue with this hardware it would make my life a lot easier...
