I tried to update cocoapods as instructed by people who got another error Ignoring ffi-1.15.4 because its extensions are not built. Try: gem pristine ffi --version 1.15.4 So I followed the instructions and when to run gem install cocoapods and I got this error

sudo gem install cocoapods

To see why this extension failed to compile, please check the mkmf.log which can be found here:

extconf failed, exit code 1

Results logged to /Library/Ruby/Gems/2.6.0/extensions/universal-darwin-21/2.6.0/ffi-1.15.5/gem_make.out

Inside the log file it says

From what I can see it's a Ruby issue but not sure if this is the case as I have never had this issue before.

  • The error seems to be a missing header file or the path is not what the build system is expecting. See if this would help: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53135863/macos-mojave-ruby-config-h-file-not-found – Casper Jul 11 '22 at 13:58
  • This seems related too. https://github.com/CocoaPods/CocoaPods/issues/10286 – Casper Jul 11 '22 at 16:05
