I have been struggling to install Vanilla for JavaScript. According to the instructions I have to use the command npm install --global serve, when I do that, errors fill the screen saying I don't have permission etc.

Also I have tried using --location=global as they suggested.

Error messages are attached below:

Windows10@MacBook-Air ~ % npm install --global serve

Looks like you have some permissions issues. A quick fix would be to run the command with sudo which will prompt you for credentials and the required files will be created. A better option would be to go to the folder mentioned in the error message and ensure you have correct permissions set so the command can create the required files without sudo permissions. Here is another SO question that may help: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47252451/permission-denied-when-installing-npm-modules-in-osx – Daniel Black Sep 07 '22 at 17:01
