Have you tried the steps suggested in the tutorial [Device Update for Azure IoT](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/azure/iot-hub-device-update/device-update-ubuntu-agent) The article mentions that the tools and concepts in that tutorial still apply even if you plan to use a different OS platform configuration.
