I have a google pixel (sailfish) where the Operating system was damaged beyond repair.
It won't start into recovery mode.

I tried to use fastboot to unlock the bootloader (fastboot flashing unlock), but it won't do that because OEM is not allowed. I can't start up the device on Android to allow OEM unlock in developer options...

What can I do?

  • fastboot won't work on a locked phone and without OS you can't allow unlock. But you can try to flash a full OTA image via sideload, AFAIK that should work without unlocking and thus restore the OS: https://developers.google.com/android/ota – Robert Oct 14 '22 at 12:20
  • Nope, didn't work. Cannot get into recovery mode for the sake of it. The screen just says that it was unsuccessful. – Elliot Oct 22 '22 at 08:49
