I found steps outlined most kindly by a stackover flow user - Gord Thompson How to configure Squirrel SQL client to work with MS Access to use the SQUIRREL IDE for an MS Access database using the UCanAccess driver but I am getting the error: java.sql.SQLException: UCANACCESS_HOME system variable doesn't point to the correct ucanaccess home
I followed these steps below unzipped the UcanAccess file as seen below:
After this I created a UCanAccess driver as seen below:
After which I added an Alias for my ms access database:
When I try to connect I keep getting the error: java.sql.SQLException: UCANACCESS_HOME system variable doesn't point to the correct ucanaccess home
I also found an alternate thread UCANACCESS_HOME system variable not set where Gord Thompson mentioned adding java system property to point to the directory containing the UCanAccess driver files but I don't know to go about doing this
Please any pointers will be very helpful (Also I want to add that, all I want to do is get an IDE or editor that allows me write SQL directly for MS access database manipulation). Many Thanks.
