I am using MS Excel 64 bit version to pull data from an Oracle database. A coworker created an Excel spreadsheet that works perfectly but uses 32bit Oracle instant client because his Excel is 32 bit. I have 64 bit instant client on my machine (for other apps) but when I try to install 32bit Oracle instant client, no luck.

Is there a way to install 32bit Oracle instant client into its own folder and set environment variables so they can both be used? Thanks

  • Since they are ZIP files you can unzip both 32 & 64-bit packages. You can then set PATH in a command shell to include the appropriate Instant Client directory (put it early in the list) and invoke your desired tool/program from that shell. – Christopher Jones Nov 28 '22 at 23:00
