i am trying to install the dotenv package from the npm registry but it's giving this error

npm install dotenv npm ERR! code UNABLE_TO_VERIFY_LEAF_SIGNATURE npm ERR! errno UNABLE_TO_VERIFY_LEAF_SIGNATURE npm ERR! request to https://registry.npmjs.org/dotenv failed, reason: unable to verify the first certificate

just expecting that the dotenv package will install is their any other way of doing it?
