I am using an autocomplete form that I retrieved from another post here in Stackoverflow, and with minor tweeks, it worked perfect for me, but I need to go a little further... When inputing a name in the form, if that name shows up in the sugestion list, clicking on it doesn't submit the form immediatelly. I have to click on the submit button to submit it.

My question is: How can I submit the form immediately, just by clicking on a sugestion list name, but... keeping the submit button, because it is useful if I input a name not on the list, and I want to submit it to be checked later on a redirected php (newsearch.php)?

Is it possible to do this? I have a very good knowledge of PHP but I am just beggining to learn JS, so despite serching similar questions and answers here in Stockoverflow, none of them gave me an easy clue to answer my question, and with my current knowledge os JS, I can't go any further! All related questions have answers where the submit button is needed even when the sugestion name on the list is clicked. Thanks in advance for any help.
