we have an NLB with two servers and a shared config. A web farm with two other servers is set up on both servers. If I use "make server unavailable gracefully" on one of the web farm servers via management and monitoring, this setting is not transferred to the second server. So I have to switch to the second server of the web farm and make the settings there as well. I also can't find any setting in the shared applicationHost.config that would have changed as a result. If I set the server to offline in the overview of the servers of the web farm, this setting is automatically transferred to the second NLB server. So these settings from management and monitoring do not seem to be part of the SharedConfig. Is there a way to control this setting centrally or is the only option to set this separately on both servers?

  • When I set the server availability to "make server unavailable gracefully" in monitoring and management, this setting will not be written to applicationHost.config, and the configuration cannot be shared. I don't have a good way other than setting this up separately on the two servers. In this xml file you can see the IIS application request router configuration architecture. `%windir%\system32\inetsrv\config\schema\arr_schema.xml`. – YurongDai Mar 28 '23 at 05:10
